Stable Seeks Classic Glory

Among the highlights of Anthony’s career is the Classic win at Flemington of Fiveandahalfstar in the VRC Derby. On Thursday he aims to replicate that thrill for the connections of two fillies in the VRC Oaks, and Anthony is confident both girls will run well.

Going on bookies prices Moqueen is the more favoured of the pair. A winner in Listed company against the colts two starts back, this daughter of Uncle Mo will relish having had her races spaced and if there is a chink in the favourite’s armour, Moqueen’s turn of foot might well bring about Yankee Rose’s downfall.

Our other runner is Lamma Hilton who will belie her inflated price. This filly has given every indication that the Oaks’ trip will be right up her alley and comes off a luckless effort in a slowly run Wakeful Stakes on Saturday. Watch out for her running on at the finish. The stable wishes the owners of both our entries the best of luck in what should be an exciting race.

Of course Gr.1 success for either filly will significantly increase their value once the day comes for them to enter the breeding population. Once again this week Anthony showed he has the knack at placing horses to maximise returns for their owners when Lucky Louie was placed second at Gr.3 level at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day. Should you be interested in finding out more about the ownership opportunities available through the stable contact us on (02) 9663 3088 and speak to Anthony, Ryan or Glen.
